Even though he was already booked for a different... read more itinerary with other clients, Erasmo helped arrange for a local guide, Quil, to accompany me to Playa Muertos. The jungle trek was challenging but I felt like I was in good hands with the guide. The scenery was stunning and sleeping in a hammock deep in the jungle was an experience that I will never forget. Playa Muertos is easily one of the most remote and magical places that I has d ever visited in my life. The people were kind and welcoming. The food was plentiful and delicious. Lots of fresh fish. The sleeping area was clean and comfortable and there was even a bathroom hit with a shower and flush toilet just for guests. I was happy that I spent three nights in the village in order to soak up the atmosphere, do some activities (like basket making and body painting with ink from the jagua fruit) and take interesting side trips. As a solo woman traveler, I always felt safe with the guide and in the village. I would love to do a trip with Ecotour Darien again.

He is very responsive. As a solo traveler, most tour companies would not put together a tour for me. Thanks Erasmo for being flexible. Alexis was my guide for the 4 day 3 nights trip to Darien. He is very caring, responsible, humorous, extremely knowledgeable in wildlife, especially birds, and speaks perfect English. A good guide can truly make your experience different. Highly recommended. Clepero from the local tribe was my porter and chef, who has sharp eyes, made perfect lemon grass tea and great food everyday.

I stayed in local tribe for one night and ranger station for two nights. It was at the end of pandemic with very few travelers. I was the only visitor in the ranger station and had grate time during my stay. It was my first time to sleep in the hammock, which turned out to be quite comfortable. I was lucky to see two Harpy Eagles in one day. Seeing a Juvenile Harpy Eagle taking off right in front of me is once in a lifetime experience. I’ve been to rainforest in Peru, Costa Rica, Australia, Kenya, and Borneo, but am still surprised at the wildlife I see in Darien. There were so many birds and butterflies, definitely worth a visit for any nature and wildlife lovers.
